FAQ

What people ask before they call

If yours is not here, ask it on the screening call.

Cost

How are fees set?

By household income and household size, in four bands, each with its own hourly rate. You get your band in writing.

Do I pay filing fees too?

Yes, unless the court waives them. We help with the waiver form.

What happens if my income changes?

Tell us. Your band can move up or down for the work still to come.

Cases

Which cases do you take?

Custody and parenting time, child support, divorce, and protective orders asked for or answered, in Camden County.

Can you take my case if the other side has a lawyer?

Often, yes. We look at the facts and our caseload.

Do you take criminal or immigration cases?

No. If yours has one of those too, tell us on the call and we will suggest who to ask.

Safety and access

Can I meet by video?

Yes. Most meetings are by video or phone, and we can email forms and guides.

What if it is not safe to call me back?

Say so in the form, give a safe time and number, or choose email. We will not leave a message you did not ask for.

Is the website form private?

Do not put private details in it. Name, how to reach you and the kind of case are enough.
